Residents or businesses in the Valley rural fire district can obtain a permit. Permits are conditional and may be revoked at any time.
You may register online using this website, or you can visit us in person.
Please only burn wood, wood by-products (cardboard, paper etc.) or leaves. Absolutely no burning of rubber, plastic, creosote, shingles, tar paper, garbage, treated lumber or other items that may be harmful to the environment or cause noxious odors and smoke is allowed or authorized by this permit.
You need to obtain a burn permit to conduct open air burns for the purposes of destroying material, trees, branches, leaves, land clearing, yard waste, etc. If you are having a barbecue or a recreational fire contained to a below grade or raised pit, a permit is not required.
Burning within Valley city limits requires a secondary permit issued by Valley City Hall. You will need to first obtain a permit from us, and take that to City Hall for their final approval.
